Il surrealismo di Thom Browne

Thom Browne's surrealism

New York Fashion Week, the famous stage that every year lights up with the most daring expressions of style and creativity, continues to surprise and capture the attention of the entire fashion world. Among the most anticipated events, yesterday's Thom Browne fashion show left an indelible mark, establishing itself as one of the highlights of this season by bringing his vision of Edgar Allan Poe's story, The Raven, to the catwalk.

The fashion show was held in a suggestive location, which was able to best highlight the creations of the iconic designer. Thom Browne, known for his innovative approach and tailored silhouettes that challenge convention, presented a collection that is a true hymn to experimentation and tailoring.

The event kicked off with a studied, almost theatrical choreography, accompanied by the voice of the actress Carrie Coon reciting the poems of Edgar Allan Poe and at the center of the scene, a solitary tree. the first protagonist of Thom Browne's surrealist theatre, wrapped in a gigantic duvet which at each end reveals black and bare branches and children emerge from the infinite 9 meters of billowing fabric, also bringing Thom Browne's children's line to the catwalk.

Followed by a flock of crows in tailored suits and coats with imposing shoulders colonizing the room showing wool flannels and velvet inlays applied on white silk moiré, and more outerwear in torn denim tweed and roses sewn into satin.

Thom Browne created a black and white collection with evening dresses deconstructed and transformed into modular panels, to finally button them together. There's no shortage of the designer's signature tweed and tartan, while the footwear features curved heels and platforms, as well as being protected by a removable layer of waterproof vinyl.

The garments shown paid homage to the sartorial tradition, but with a modern and often playful twist, a distinctive feature of the Brand.

The final applause resonated as confirmation of Thom Browne's innovation and artistry, with critics and spectators unanimous in recognizing the impact of his vision. In a world that constantly seeks the new and the original, Thom Browne continues to push the boundaries, making his show in New York not just a fashion event, but a true cultural event.
