Balmain AW 24/25: tra le Radici Bordolesi e l'Avanguardia Contemporanea.

Balmain AW 24/25: between Bordeaux roots and contemporary avant-garde.

The Balmain fashion show for the Autumn/Winter 2024/2025 season proved to be a fashion event that masterfully combined the heritage of haute couture with a decidedly contemporary vision. Under the futuristic lights of the Parisian scene, creative director Olivier Rousteing presented a collection that speaks to the future without forgetting the roots of an iconic brand and stages a bucolic and rural fashion show, like an invitation to go and recharge your batteries in the greenery . In homage to Bordeaux, his hometown, Olivier Rousteing cultivates his green thumb with a collection marked by generous bunches of grapes that are transformed into accessories and in an all-over print that covers jumpsuits and sheath dresses, in sparkling embroidery.

the bold play of volumes between a very tight waist, XXL shoulders or even conical breasts like a pointed bra from the fifties, are inspired by the architecture and the "classic" and "elegant" charm of this metropolis.

Indispensable for rainy afternoons, the trench coat is "the" emblematic piece of the designer's Bordeaux wardrobe. This military-inspired piece features pleated details and transforms into a kimono-style dress with shoulder pads and cropped hooded jackets in a palette of earthy tones. Literally camouflaged in the green of the lawn: an oversized moss-colored faux fur coat.

The Vichy patterned tablecloth, an essential element of a lunch on the grass, is proposed here in a contemporary version, cut in shimmering black and white jacquard fabric. Enough to organize an ideal Balmain picnic.

Most outfits were accessorized with the house's newest leather creation, the “Jolie Madame” bag, a highly sculptural leather accessory with its isosceles triangle design, another nod to the founder's stylistic legacy. Real tote bags, bags that imitate traditional wicker baskets and poppy-colored shopping nets accompany the looks.

Balmain's Autumn/Winter 2024/2025 show was a powerful statement of timeless, forward-looking luxury, an invitation to dream of a future where fashion is an authentic expression of the self. Rousteing and his team have once again set the bar for contemporary luxury, proving that the Balmain brand remains an innovative and inspiring force in the global fashion landscape.
