Herno

A story that has lasted since 1948, when Giuseppe Marenzi and his wife Alessandra opened a waterproof company in Lesa, Novara.
The name Herno derives from the name of the Erno river, to which was added a claw to indicate the water: of the river and of the raincoats.
Marenzi had developed a method to make fabrics impermeable by applying castor oil. Given the rainy weather they sold well and in fact in 1980 the first store arrived in Japan, and then the one in the United States. In the nineties Herno worked for Jil Sander, Prada, Gucci, Armani and Louis Vuitton.
From the year 2000 the production focuses on the Herno brand: raincoats and cashmere coats, the mid-jacket half waterproof jacket and the ultralight down jackets as well as the Herno Laminar, a tailored engineering project realized with Gore.
