Met Gala 2025: Madonna Wears Custom Tom Ford Alongside Haider Ackermann to Celebrate “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”

After much anticipation, the Met Gala 2025 red carpet has finally come to life. As tradition holds, the first Monday in May brought together some of the most influential figures from the worlds of fashion, film, music, and sports at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art to mark the opening of the Costume Institute’s spring exhibition.

This year’s theme, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, will be open to the public from May 10 through October 26. Divided into twelve thematic sections, the exhibition explores the essential role of clothing and style in shaping Black identities in the wake of the Atlantic diaspora.

One of the evening’s most striking appearances came from Madonna, who walked the red carpet alongside designer Haider Ackermann wearing a custom Tom Ford ensemble — an elegant tribute to the exhibition’s focus on sartorial excellence and cultural identity.
