Nike
The company was born on January 24, 1964, when Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight created the "Blue Ribbon Sports" brand, a company that initially imported into the United States the Onitsuka Tiger, the Japanese basketball shoes that were popular in the 1960s '. Just six years later the Blue Ribbon name was dropped and all products took on the Nike brand. The idea for the name seems to have been inspired by one of their collaborators, the company's designer Jeff Johnson, to whom Nike, the winged Hellenic goddess of victory, appeared in a dream; Thus Nike.inc was born on May 30, 1971. Nike today is a leader in the clothing and sporting goods sector, becoming the world's leading manufacturer of accessories and sportswear. The company uses a new language, focused not only on the products but above all on the communication of a particular lifestyle and on the concept of sport, no longer understood only in the competitive sense, but broadening the horizon to everything that concerns free time and everyday life.
