After studying at the Royal Academy of Fine in Antwerp, Martin Margiela works as a freelance designer, working with designers like Jean-Paul Gaultier and in 1988 founded her fashion house in Paris. From that moment on, it's tenacious will to circumvent conventional marketing and focus on product quality and design has been very clear. Margiela decodes clothes to give them new meanings trough careful craftesmanship and the choice of high quality fashion fabrics. Over the last 20 years, Margiela and her team have created some of the most influential and popular collection in fashion history, making the brand an icon in cutting-edge fashion.
