NEW YEAR’S LOOK

NEW YEAR'S LOOK

New Year's Eve outfit 2023: 7 tips for celebrating the new year in style.

If it is true that what happens on New Year's Day will affect the remaining 364 days (in this case 365, given that 2024 will be a leap year), then it will be better than on the evening of the 31st, a few seconds before midnight, the 'Universe you will find us wearing the most beautiful of our outfits, the most dreamy, or in any case the most capable of reflecting the attitude with which we intend to face the new year.

#1 The inevitable sparkle

On New Year's Eve I like sparkle. I'm a Carrie Bradshaw through and through. This year I'll focus everything on a silver skirt, with a bit of a mermaid effect, and I'm thinking of pairing it with a practical white top and an oversized blazer. Complete with a sparkling touch with accessories, from the tennis necklace to the pumps with jeweled wedges, plus a lucky amulet to welcome 2024. Since I was little, the king of the mice of the Nutcracker has always made me smile; an excellent starting point for choosing it as my auspicious amulet.

#2 Like a princess

For New Year's Eve I would choose an extra long princess cut dress to layer with a see through thermal shirt if necessary. I combine it with a long white fur coat to wrap yourself in while waiting for midnight on a terrace, with statement (and symbolic) lobed earrings to lighten things up, because there's always a need.

#3 The power look for a power year

I chose to wear a so-called power look for New Year's Eve because that's how I want to feel for the whole of 2024. So off to the blazers with sculpted shoulders, mini skirts, sweaters and strictly black Mary Janes. A touch of color will be given by the tights, red in true Blair Waldorf style.

#4 Game of transparencies

Among my favorite items are a pair of vintage flared trousers that I never get tired of wearing. We could elect them as the most worn trousers of recent years and therefore, by right, perfect allies to close the year and open a new one. For the evening I like to combine them with a sheer top, usually without a bralette underneath, rather with an oversized jacket that plays with the tight focus of the look. Red, at most, a lip tint.

#5 Storm of sequins

My New Year's Eve look will be studded with sequins as always. This time I will focus on pink instead of the more classic silver and black. The shoes will be super minimal given the richness of the dress.

#6 And still red

I've never understood why it would be good luck to wear something red on New Year's Eve, but to be on the safe side I've decided that I won't limit myself to underwear or accessories: I'll take it literally and dress all in red. Let this be the year all this manifesting really works.

#7 Lurex

After being set aside for a few seasons, lurex is making a comeback, perhaps also conveyed by the fabulous Feben naked dress worn by Emily Ratajkowski at the 2023 Oscars after-party  That fabric with subtle metallic flashes that defined the glam of the Eighties is among the must-haves of the moment, in perfect harmony with the upcoming holidays but also redesigned to be worn in everyday life.

Sequins for a little sparkle, red for luck and princely lengths. the perfect New Year's Eve 2023 outfit , for a December 31st full of style - as well as the new year. Congratulations!
