Alberta Ferretti lascia la direzione creativa del suo brand dopo 40 anni

Alberta Ferretti leaves the creative direction of her brand after 40 years

"It was my last show, now it's time for a new chapter"

Alberta Ferretti leaves the creative direction of the brand she helped found. At 74, the Italian designer, who founded the Aeffe company with her brother Massimo in 1980, is leaving the brand. The Aeffe group, which today owns the brands Alberta Ferretti, Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini, Moschino and Pollini, has communicated the designer's decision. The Spring/Summer 2025 collection will therefore be the last designed by Ferretti, whose career began in 1980. "43 years have passed since my first fashion show. The enthusiasm and passion I have for my work and for fashion are unchanged, but I believe that at this point in my career it is the right and conscious choice to pave the way for a new creative chapter for the brand I founded and which will continue to bear my name," said Alberta Ferretti.
"For me, it's time to make room for a new chapter for my brand, for a new narrative. It was a difficult, complicated, very thoughtful choice," the designer said. "How many things I've learned, how much energy I've invested in this job and how many satisfactions I've been lucky enough to be able to reap. From Cattolica to China, from Hollywood to Japan... fantastic places on a journey that seemed unimaginable, but which came true." A privilege of "giving shape to my dreams and making them reality," she defined her 40-year career, thanking "my brother Massimo, a constant presence in my professional and personal life, and all those who in these years have contributed to making the Alberta Ferretti brand great in the world." In addition to remaining vice president of Aeffe, she will dedicate herself to her great passions beyond fashion, including art: "If anyone thinks I'm going to rest, that someone doesn't know me well enough."
