Julien Dossena had anticipated it a few days ago: the creative director of the maison Rabanne has chosen to bring to the catwalk exclusive pieces, true handcrafted jewels, recovered from the archive of the Parisian brand, founded by Paco Rabanne, born Francisco Rabaneda Cuervo, in the 60s.
The brand, since its inception, has always been known for the use of alternative materials in its collections, some decidedly precious, such as gold, silver, reflective metals that made the fortune of the maison in the 60s. From Jane Fonda to Françoise Hardy, many celebs have worn the iconic reflective clothes of the brand, and now, that glittering magic, lives again, albeit revisited, in the collections designed by Dossena.
For the Spring Summer 2025 show, the “world’s most expensive bag” was recovered, a reproduction of the 1969 Nano Bag, made of 18-karat gold. The bag required more than 100 hours of work by artisans and jewelers and will be sold in the Parisian boutique of Rabanne at a price of 250,000 euros. A true treasure, which was transported in a highly armored truck with an escort in tow, from the production laboratories to the offices of the fashion house.
Oliver Rousteing with Balmain closes the 3rd day of Paris Fashion Week by bringing glamorous women to the catwalk dressed in couture embroidered dresses with faces and hands, jackets with high shoulders and decorations of pearls and chains. The first perfumes created with Estée Lauder are carried as clutches. The models carry them by hand as clutches in a fashion show that takes shape among dresses with surrealist embroidery with women's faces and hands, total black looks composed of very short skirts, jackets with pointed shoulders and vertiginous cuissardes. Chains and pearls, distinctive elements of Balmain's aesthetic, decorate the sculptural micro dresses while second-skin gowns seem like clay sculpted on the body.
